Too Much Stuff
Jul. 16th, 2007 12:49 amEarlier today Pet said to me - "I hope you're not selling/getting rid of stuff you like/want?"
Heh
I could lose a whole lot of this, and still have way too much. I went to the Container Store and bought two underbed boxes. They are now FULL of shoes. Both of them. One was supposed to be for clothes. But the fact is, I don't wear the clothes either. I have at least two drawers in the big dresser that contain clothes I never wear. No, not just fancy stuff I don't' have an opportunity to, I mean NEVER WEAR.
Today I went through shoes, and clearly I didn't do it enough. I am going to try and wear every pair I decided to keep sometime between now and October. If I don't I have to consider getting rid of them. Some are even items I'm not even sure FIT anymore, but they're "cute" Like my ribbon wedge heels, which hurt like hell the last time I wore them. Or my infamous witchy heels, which I last wore to B Movie (for those counting, over a YEAR ago in England) that gave me blisters from too much walking. They're fabulous though, and wearable locally - I just need to start.
Then there are the pairs I want to throw out. All of them have broken seals or split at the sides. Two pairs are so cheap they're not worth giving away to be fixed. One is even broken in the middle of the sole. WHY is this difficult????
Oh and the punch line? A pair I decided to ditch, by selling, are the Demonia Rangers I bought in Leipzig, to replace the pair that split in Cambridge. They are a size too small, and hurt my toes. They hurt LESS than wearing sneakers (the social scandal) but they hurt too much for everyday wear.
So of course, I need to buy them in the RIGHT size, yes? OH and there are also a pair of SUPER CUTE heels too! I haven't even ditched ONE PAIR, and here I am adding potentially TWO PAIRS.
A couple of pairs need a cobbler. I want the innards replaced, and not by "inserts" I need them redone. ONe pair is an Aldo pair I desperately want back for work. So I consider that money well spent. I think next weekend, after I finish HP7, I need to Ebay some easy stuff, to put some money in PayPal to pay for Velvet Garden.
It's better than spending my weekend moving furniture and sweating like a piggie! Yikes! I desperately need a shower, but I can't do that until I clean the kitchen. someone has used their "talents" for fucking up my way of loading the dishwasher, so I have to unload icky dishes and pots so I can reload it, all plates not mine. I'm about ready to gag just thinking about it.
Serves me right for sleeping til noon. Oops.
