So.
I did INDEED rearrange my bedroom today. Not complete ATM, but I'm working on it. Some thoughts so far:

- my room is the greatest collector of dust in the universe.
- I have way too much stuff
- ditto clothes
- I need a better way to organize things. It's high time I got more boxes from Ikea and started the system of "it has a home/box, or it doesn't live here."
- wrestling with spending money I shouldn't (I have, but shouldn't) on one more piece of Ikea furniture, or yanking an item from the living room. Con - it doesn't match. Con - it's full of stuff already. Pro - Free.
- also wrestling with the idea that I should get a different desk. The one I Have works as is, and I could, at some point, find a hutch to use with the current desk. But the desk I want is delicious. Again, free use of what I already have versus money spent I shouldn't
- I'm also NOT sure if this is the final version of the room. I am refraining from buying anything until I decide that.
- This room really isn't big enough to be multi purpose. It's a bedroom OR an office. Once I'm alone here again, the other room will be the office/guest room, and this will be my zen bedroom.
- also not sure about bed placement. It dominates the room, but opens it up some at the same time. I'm making better use of space, since I was only cluttering up the floor anyway. But I'm not sure about the point of the bed. I'm committing Feng Shui nonos left and right.

But hey. I said I was going to do this and I did. Key point - covering my favorite couch with crap, so in order for me to sit there at some point, I need to complete what I'm doing. Always thinkin' me. *grins*

OK need to get back to it before I stiffen up. I need to sort through my clothes before putting them back. Did I say I have too many? Hehe. Also, there are things I'm attending this weekend and next that I should be able to pawn some stuff onto peeps. And there's always Ebay.

ETA - ok - additional changes

- I have these matching pieces from IKEA. They were in a big BULK line before, and I was trying to avoid that. But honestly they look good together, and anything I put between them looked suspect. My only issue is that I'm losing a plug, but I'm going to thread a power strip and an extension cord back there before I put everything into place.

- computer facing the way I want it.

- used furniture I already had, by trying some things, finding them not working, rearrainging and freeing up a small bookcase. It's now going to serve as a computer accessory stand.

- I stil need to decide what to do with a chest of drawers/filing cabinet/computer stand. I like it, but it's plastic and I honestly don't want to use it as a nightstand. I'm just rapidly running out of room. I need to do some more juggling.

OK - haven't spent any money YET, give me a little while *evil grin*

ETA the second - OK, I want the new desk. That gives me more room, more strorage, allows me to keep my current set of drawers that work, AND the bookcase in the nightstand position. I was just looking at the matching cest of filing drawers for the current desk, and it is $60. the Desk is $90. I will be grumpy about not buying the desk, and will probably go out and get it anyway. Which means if I DON'T listen to the inner demon, I will end up spending $150.

Sure $60 < $90, but $90 < $150. See how my mind works?

*big grin*

Anyway, I'm NOT going to buy it until the big chek comes in from my client. How's that? That gives me some time to live with the current setup, see how I feel, and if I still want it when the check comes, I will get it then.

Back to it....
