Full stop

I'm beginning to live for Sundays. It's the only day I just Stop.
And that's not going to continue, CPA #2 wants them. And since I want to go to England/Germany, I want the moolah. Plus there's this paying bills thing.

CPA #1 and I talked about my freezing the card thing. She was fascinated. I've read this technique in many books, and she's never heard of it. She also suggested that I want until April 15 to get paid from her, and I didn't think she'd want to do that. That way I CAN'T spend the money, and I will deposit it and send it straight to PayPal to earn 4% interest until early June. I really believe this is the way for me to go - that my tax season money is to pay for the extra things, like trips. I'm leaning towards doing that with my extra client money too. Lately I've needed it to survive and I'm hoping that'll change.

Today I need to bustle. I have a lot of stuff to do in the house. Seems I am definitely taking on a roomie, but I don't want to jinx that until they're here. That room is just REALLY still full, and while I can live with the clutter in the living room, it is patently unfair for someone else to have to. So today I want to see the living room straightened out to the next of my ability and some things put up to either ebay or freecycle, or potentially Craigslist. I'll be spending most nights here cleaning.

Also, I'm cooking. I'm SHOCKED. I've finally started the Cream of Cheesy Broccoli soup in the crockpot I've been dying to try. I found out a pound of frozen broccoli is a LOT, and I'm lucky I have a ton of it still in my freezer. I need to start using the green beans and corn in my freezer. Maybe a modified beef stew, with a thick cheezy or tomatoey sauce.

'm also attempting a lasagna today. I fear for the kitchen. I REALLY hope the oven works. *grins* I need to call Teh Unit before I do, ask about the oven, AND look into it, since I think its being used for storage. That wouldn't be good *lol*

So first the food, get it cooking then the living room and my bedroom. I also want to pop BACK out to BJs as I found some baskets I like and a review of other basket availability are WAY more expensive. It's creepy how much freaky nice baskets cost. I kinda don't like the small baskets, but I'm sure I can find a use for them. the big ones are worth than worth the cost.

Ok anyway, I need to get the contacts in and get moving.

*fear*

The soup is in the crockpot. Personally I feel like I cheated since I used cans of milk and soup, then dumped in the frozen broccoli. I guess I should get over that, since for the most part it's "Dump in ingredients, dump in liquid, turn on, leave alone"

I've done the lasagna too. from cooking the various pieces, building the thing and putting it in the oven. I think next time more sauce (I used about 3 cups) and buying an actual smaller lasagna pan(got a foil one, it's a bit big) A METRIC LOT of cheese. And I don't like ricotta, so it's cheddar and mozzarella It's one big cheesy pan right now. *grins*

AND - the kitchen is clean. Mostly. I can't scrub the stovetop with the oven on. Owie burny fingers!

So I'm going to take a little break, do some surfing, and some thinking, and then I'll have lasagna for lunch!

To Do

that isn't cleaning, or getting rid of stuff. That's a given. Not all of these things are to be done today, some might be better off later in the week.

- hot up BJs for second set of baskets. Maybe a third set.
- Browse about for other storage solutions. I need storage bins, which I really just NEED to clean out junk of, and I need to replace my purses into one (RIGHT when I got them out to display. *pouts*
- speaking of purses, seriously GET RID OF SOME. If I haven't used it in the past year I think I need to have a big sale/donation. (and make room for more!)
- move craft stuff back into storage bin, also get better bins. Get rid of weird shaped storage.
- OMG - clean the Bathroom! Get al my stuff out of there, well some of it.
- filing and bookkeeping
- laundry. Several loads, towels and undies and my PJ bottoms, which have tomato sauce on them. *eeps*
- pictures of items to get sold
- sort out closet, have piles to be sold, piles to be donated, some to be tried on to see if they work, and wearable clothes.
- review Ikea for bathroom furniture. (*cough* and another corner shelf*)

Aw crap there's work I want to do tonight. *sighs*

More as I think of it.

Verdict

I don't think one can screw up lasagna. *grins* Well except for being a REAL dumbass.

I think next time I will drain the pasta a bit more, work on separating the pieces while in the cookpot more. some didn't want to come apart and made for a thick layer. Definitely small pan. definitely more sauce and more beef (yep there's beef in this) Cheese - seemed pretty perfect. *grins* Maybe more of a mix of cheeses, more bite to it.

I had a pretty hefty lunch and have SIX very plentiful pieces left over and set into storage in the fridge. I'll be freezing most of them for the week, into next after it's cooled.

All in all it worked out quite well, and I can see myself doing this more often. The only thing I think I screwed up on was when I cut the first piece I pretty much immediately put a hole in the pan. It's going bye bye once it's cooled some more.

Yay me! Heh.

Now for the cleaninating. *sighs* A call to Teh Unit produced "Yeah we'll get to it." Well MAYBE they'll get moving if I withhold the rent, in the amount that my roomie brings. THAT ought to get someone moving. *smirk* Money always ends up talking the most in times like this.

Eek Squee!

There's a way to make sugar-free ice cream tolerable.

Cover it in chocolate syrup.

It saved me from going out, I was having HUGE brownie cravings and going out wouldn't have been good, I think.

In other news, I moved my corner shelving. I LOVE it there. Now to figure out the rest of the room I guess. I also did two loads of laundry, then ran out of quarters. That needs to get put away, shortly.

Wheeee!

Also - I packed away the soup, and had some. Yummy! the broccoli totally fell apart in the crockpot, so it's creamy cheesy and chunky. it's brilliant and filing (althogh not enough to cure the ice cream needs.)
