Last night
Apr. 2nd, 2005 11:56 am- I'm old. I am WORN OUT. I also couldn't really requisition the proper joy. I'm tired. Dammit.
- Also, there were NO TEENAGERS. That made my old feeling worse. It was indeed an arena full of reliving their teen years 30somethings. And their bored boyfriends/husbands.
- I wanted it too much - No Hold Back The Rain *CRIES*
- Cheated out of 9th row by the fan rows. You know, the $300 seats? They ADDED them to the front. Still 14th row is NOT (And
poetman make sure you MAKE THIS CLEAR) the same as seats in the back of the arena.
- Also, no Andy. He was, indeed, in England at his dad's funeral. I'd thought so. I could barely tell the difference, seriously, his replacement is pretty damn similar.
- I *Heart* Roger Taylor. I missed him. You can hear his former glory in the drums.
the best part, IMHO
- Duran Duran, in Anime style, versus The Yakuza, and a Gozilla-like monster (But NOT Godzilla, due to copyright laws!) Nick had big brestesed bodyguards. Is ANYONE surprised? *grins* Seriously, twas amazing. AND sufficiently bloody enough that all the elderly people around me were grossed out. *evil grin* My tour program has a mini comic book in it. Wheee!
But seriously, for a band who "doesn't need the money" they certainly took the opportunity for the overpriced trinkets. To the point of Simon coming out in one of the shirts. I can IMAGINE there was a run on them afterwards.
Enjoyable, yes, but I wish it hadn't happened during the Season. If they do an Arena tour (which I hear is a go) if I DON"T get those expensive seats, I'm not going. It's not worth it.
And now, I'm very sore, very tired and STILL have to shower and go to the office. The boss knows I was out last night, and was warned. He honestly doesn't have much work for me right now.
PS - Agganis Area? Kinda - weird. The stairs from top to bottom were VERY steep. Gave me a small sense of Vertigo (Do the Dance *evil grin*) on the way down after getting my overpriced trinket in the middle of the show (Hey, they were playing Tiger Tiger, gimme a break!)
And Simon - had been hanging out with chicks way too long. We thought that the only thing missing with his leather hat were chaps, a studded harness, and a moutache. Think about it.
OH - and IHOP is ALWAYS the perfect end to a concert. Even if it was rife with Prom style children and their overly big limos. There were a LOT of big girls, I recognized at least half of the dresses from Torrid. The princess look is back - I"m going to have to make sure to shop in June for leftovers!
