or, Why I hate Staples, in B-Minor

Let me begin with a big EFF you to the woman who pulled out into traffic directly in front of me, and then proceeded to stop. If I didn't see her, I'd swear it was certain silly bitches who don't think anything of destroying other's property to get their own ways. but, it was an old lady, with old lady "I don't see you" blinders. So she pulled out, and I barely stopped, and I Had to stop dead, and I was on a main street, in a school zone, and I wasn't going very fast at all, and I ALMOST couldn't STOP!

*ahem*

So I went to BJ's to return the Yu-Gi-Oh soundtrack I'd bought my nephew, which his mother already had. I wanted a day planner for 2003, and I'd seen them there. So I return the CD, and went to browse.

Now, something that has to be understood - I'm ANAL Retentive about my calendar. It's become my best friend, I need to use it even more to help me plan things out correctly. I think my problem is that I feel out of control, things get all messed up, because I'm out of time. Unfortunately, this has a lot to do with my sleeping schedule. I really should have also bought another alarm clock, to set up across the room, but I must have something around here somewhere. Anyway, I want something in particular, a daily planner, one day per page, with a lot of room to write appointments, write when I actually get there, write notes, etc. I've tried my best to work with the Palm Pilot, but it just ain't happening. it's too much, and doesn't work well with my style. I tend to leave the calendar open, and write things as they happen, or as I think of them. I can't really just scribble on a Palm Pilot.

So Nothing in BJ's, all weekly, and not Daily. I have a weekly, and I don't think there's enough room per day. So there's a Staples nearby, I head over there. I easily find the aisle with all the planners in it. Most of them are the overpriced leather-like ones, that need refills. I tend to abuse these, or tire of them. I need one of the plain scheduler type ones, for one year, which gets replaced at years end. But, as I look around, all I see are weeklies. All different sizes, a few monthlies, but no dailies. Well I feel a bit dumb, feeling very silly for being so anal. Then I start to see others, a couple of dailies, but these are HUGE, one is to schedule four different people, and costs $32! I finally spot what I think I want, a daily planner, slightly bigger than the one I'm using. Except it's on the top shelf, and I so can't reach it. I look around, but, now that I need them, I can't find ONE minion. I go looking, I see some of them standing around, and who quickly dodge out of sight. I find one, a not so bad looking little guy, and ask him if he wouldn't mind helping me get something off a top shelf. He said sure, just one sec. of course, he doesn't come back. I hear him wandering in the next aisle, talking to another worker. I think to myself "You know, Office Max has these on display, they always do, and there's all sorts of people who ask you if you need help." So I walk out, without buying a thing, thinking "even if I buy the weekly one, I won't buy it here."

I spent about 20 minutes trying to get help in Staples. I spent five minutes picking out exactly what I wanted in Office Max, from the several they had, in stock, and in reach.

So, the moral of that story is NEVER shop at Staples, unless you need something immediately, and it's right in front of you.

Now I need to go contemplate going out, see if maybe I can talk a cohort into coming with me. *shrug* I don't like being alone at a new thing, although I'm also toying with the idea of going to Club Hell.
