I scare myself
Feb. 3rd, 2001 09:06 pmToday I worked (If you're asking why I was working on a Saturday, read previous entry)
I worked on one project. I got there at 10AM, I left at 7:30PM. All day, same client. My boss had visited the place early last week, and picked up their printouts. My job was to take their numbers, put them into our system, and build audit "workpapers", basically redundantly backing up the important amounts on the account listing. (on paper, not like backing up a hard drive, more like proving cash is what it is, and why.)
I liked it.
I had fun.
I killed several green trees (Accounting paper is green, for lack of eye strain, and lined in columns, we use a lot of it)
I analyized most of the balance sheet accounts, and proved the financial statement.
I understood it.
I finished it. It does need review by my boss and the client for some missing info, then I do the tax return(s).
I LIKED it. It was like sex, only more productive. I was pissed when I got interrupted.
Believe me, it scares me too.
