CPA #1 has Netscape (*GAGS*) for surfing and mail. Netscape has ceased to be, and is not upgraded or supported. She NEEDS something that is similar so she won't have a huge re-learning curve.

Am I right in thinking the closest thing operations wise to Netscape Mail is Thunderbird?

I just HATE the idea of her using Outlook Express, or ponying up for Outlook, when she JUST needs a free mail thingy.

I'm thinking of taking her to Firefox as well. She's never liked IE. Ahead of her time, that one.

This is Windows, no grief please, I JUST got her off the DOS based financial program shew used. Yes, I said DOS. Don't Ask how I managed to make that happen!

thunderbird is, i believe, the vague offspring of netscape mail. i'm pretty sure the code has split off REALLY far by now, but yeah, i'd say that's as close as you'll get.

and thunderbird isn't bad. i've used it for mac quite a bit. i'd assume the windows one would be the same.

Oh I use thunderbird myself - WAY better than both any windows product and eudora, which I tried too after a recommendation. Eudora just was - sluggish - and not user friendly IMHO. Thunderbird works so much more flawlessly.

I honestly think she needs to ask her computer guy, but I also know that for something like this he'll charge her up the wing wong, and that's not right.

See I could understand up the ying yang charging, but up the wing wong is just going too far.

Once my coat comes back from the tailor I should be all set on the Jack note. Well, I've gotta put together my little wrist computer, but that's not a big deal.
