tiamatladyI want to go back to the store, and hug the Evil Phone Company rep, who didn't want to sell me a phone at the time, and pointed me to PhoneScoop.com. It's been the most insightful site while I've been looking at new phones. The day I went on it, they had the advance insight on the new phones EPC rep told me about. Which made me fall in love with Shiney New Toy. I went online, after not getting the emailto pre-order, and found it not one of my options, then emailed the company. Today, having finally gotten the time to read the forums, I find that due to my plan, which is an older one and cheap, but they are powerless to move me off of it unless I go to renew, they've taken away my ability to pre-order, and I think (in my paranoid way) that they deliberately didn't send me a preorder email because of my plan.

Now, after reading the forums, and realizing I might have to pay IPhone prices for Shiney New Toy, I'm less than thrilled. I MIGHT try and wait until after Xmas to get Shiney New Toy, after the prices drop, but I don't want to have to try and deal with it during Tax Season. I want it in place and running smooth when I roll into it.
I'm getting a bad taste in my mouth tho, on the while thing. Seems that in order to utilize it's functions, I will need to do some serious, annoying, upgrades to my account. And they are going to cost me. For someone who is trying to reduce costs, this is daunting.
BUT, on the flip side, I wonder if doing this will HELP me. I want the new service that acts as a road navigator, being able to get email OR work email anywhere is also good. Maybe I can use IT to check email at work, and try and leave off my obsession with Thar Intertubes at work. (And secure my workpace again. By checking my own email on my phone, and not the work computer, along with LJ, I can STILL have instant gratification, but remove the links from the work computer.)
I'm planning on cutting back on the house phone. (I've been waiting to get my voice back to call Evil Phone Empire Landline) I need to trim other bills as well. I'm unclear on HOW to do this with the electric bill, I'm not sure why it's up some months and down others. I need to do an analysis (other than Summer = A/C, I'm not that dumb, but during the winter when it's lights and computers only, yeah, this is strange)
Meh, this is not a decision to make today. I can't get the phone today, I don't REALLY want it at it's price tag, and if I don't get my credit on it, I'll be pissed. I need to do more research onpricing and what I REALLY want from the new phone, and I have to find out what Roomie wants on his.
I need to clean up my desk, put my laundry into a bag for the doing, and get setup to get some work done. I just need a few hours uninterrupted to get my work stuff done for a meeting tomorrow. I haven't' completely gotten settled from travel, stupid being sick!
